4/25/2016 - Blurred and Bummed

Last year on April 20 - 166
Last week - 172.4
This week - 173.6

Well, the stats this week are très disappointing. The picture is a bit blurry, but the numbers are sharp enough to read. I am sure you are feeling as disappointed as I am with my non-progress. I was actually shocked when I looked back a year ago. In this quest to lose weight, I actually gained from 4/20/2015.

So I have decided not to report my weight again until I am under 170 for at least 2 weeks in a row. I'll let you know. Hope it is not too long.

Regarding toe polish, I haven't decided. Should I take toe photos without the scale or hold off on that also. I'll have to think about it.

Anyway ... last week you read I finished my disappointing, bought from Costco, Max Studio set of 15 colors. Good riddance. This week starts my newish set of four OPI Tres Chic. I bought this set at Duty Free in the Amsterdam Airport last fall.

Today I used the second from left called Strawberry Margarita. On this one only two coats on the big toe and one on the others. Much better quality.

In place of my weight loss report, I'll finish my travel blog on our Italy trip last year. I only got about half way through before I got side-tracked on other projects. But time to finish it up.

4/18/2016 - No Will / No Willpower

Last week - 174.8
This week - 172.4
No real story to tell. Lost a bit, but also losing my will to try.

Used the last bottle of the 15 color set in the Max Studio package. Really like this color although it took 3-4 coats to cover. It looks green on the photo. Actually a little more on the teal side with a sparkle effect. It's name of Mermaid suits it well.

Now I'll give my set to my sister-in-law, who does great nail polish art.

4/11/2016 - Doomed to Increase

Last week - 171.0
This week - 174.8
Told you I would gain this week. That is not a brag, but an inevitable fact! Was hoping to stay under 175 and did, barely. Hopefully this is a blip on the radar and I will lose most of this by next weigh-in.

It certainly was a big eating week from Thursday til Sunday. California bestie Suzi was in town. She is a gourmet cook herself and I'm not a cook at all. So we showed off some of our favorite restaurants in town--The Beer Exchange for meatloaf with mashed potatoes and huge burgers, Erbelli's on Stadium for pizza, Casa Bolero for traditional Mexican flavors presented in updated ways, and Food Dance for breakfast (huevos rancheros for me).

Of course, a lot of cocktails and wine were also swilled. Mix in a gala spread for opening night at the theatre and an over-the-top bridal shower with mimosas and a fantastic brunch. All leading down the path of food greed and fun.

The weather here is unusually cold for this time of year with about three inches of snow on Thursday night. It was real pretty when we woke up the next morning, snow glistening in the sunshine. But poor Suzi was freezing the whole time she was here. She's got that warm weather California blood flowing through her veins.

But the After Midnight blue nail polish was quite appropriate for the icy weather. The color just looks "cold." This one from the Max Studio set I liked, although even this dark color needed three coats. Next week will be the last color from that group, then back to my fave OPI brand.

4/5/2016 - Tough week ahead

Last week - 172.6
This week - 171.0

Lost a little without trying too hard, but this next week will be a challenge. Gourmet loving bestie from California is coming for a visit on Thursday through Sunday. We'll be touring Suzi through all our fave restaurants in Kalamazoo. Nuff said!

Toe polish is Miami from "the set." Did a good job on all toes this time because company coming and wanted to look my best from top to toe. The color is more coppery in the bottle, but more on the gold side on the toes. It took two only two coats to cover fairly well.
