Russia 2019 (15) ON BOARD - Lunch Time

The first day lunch was on the road. We had two back-to-back tours, so no time to return to the ship. We ate between stops on the bus. A bag lunch was supplied with water, juice, apple, chips, cookies, and a sandwich. It was a meat sandwich, so it was a good thing I could fill up on the other stuff. Next time I will be sure to arrange. We really just nibbled on a few things as we weren't really that hungry anyway.

The other days (with one exception) we had time scheduled for lunch on the ship between tours. Each day there was a buffet menu, take-your-order selections, and "always available" selections. Here are some typical menus:
This isn't the lentil above, but soups were always superb. I probably could have lived off those alone.

BBQ pork sandwich.
There was always a veggie (or veggie seafood) pasta choice, so I was assured of at least one good option. The Parmesan cheese was straight from Italy!

Here is the artichoke and fresh cheese appetizer. Umm. One of my favorites. Doesn't it look right out of a food magazine?
And the shrimp sandwich.
After a couple of days Mike tasted the all-beef hot dog and said it was the best he ever had. The bun had a different texture than what we are used to, but he ended up ordering it for quite a few lunches. Lots of little catchup bottles (served with breakfast and lunch). Sister Kathy would be happy!
Desserts for lunch and dinner were always a delight. Here is a cream-stuffed pastry with nuts and chocolate.

If you wanted a faster or to-go meal to take back to your room, there was always the Panorama Bar with soup, salad, and sandwich selections. It was located at the bow of the ship, so a really great head-on view from there.
