Russia 2019 (71) - VEHICLES of Russia

Mike loves vehicles, especially planes and autos. Here are some interesting ones we saw on this trip.

Didn't know they allowed hookahs in Russia! A 2017 news article says "The Ministry of Health is going to ban vapes and hookahs to force everyone to give up smoking and start doing sports." Guess that didn't work well so far.
Russians have Uber, too.
Oligarch's story-and-a-half limo?
Diplomatic license plate with white numbers on red background.
Mass transit.
Working boats on the river. Moving lumber and salt.

Other water vehicles.
Old hydrofoil.
Clever mystery ship (two angles). We heard there was a restaurant inside, for one thing.

In the air. This ground-effect vehicle (GEV), specifically a Russian A-90 Orlyonok, was parked across the Moscow Canal from our dock. It is built to fly close to flat level surfaces, such as over water. It works through aerodynamic interaction between the wings and the surface.

This plane we saw on the way home. I asked Mike what it was and he said "nothing he had seen before." Seemed like a combo of B-747 in front, an extension in the middle, and a DC-10 in back. What a mystery!

Last, but not least, we saw this parked near our ship landing in SP. Looked like an old gypsy wagon. Intriguing! You could make up a lot of stories about this one.
